New Model Sought to Drive Sales as ‘Deal Fatigue’ Sets in

========

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla.-28 Aug 2012-(BUSINESS WIRE)–“Deal fatigue” appears to be slowing consumer enthusiasm for daily deal sites such as Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN)—and the Aristocrat Group Corp. (OTCBB: ASCC) is working on a new coupon model to offer buyers something different.

Although Groupon and its largest competitor, Living Social, have built tremendous market share in the once-booming daily deals space, dozens of similar businesses are watering down the industry. Today, many consumers are flooded with e-mails every day from a multitude of daily coupon sites, leading to a drop in business termed “deal fatigue.”

“What Groupon and its clones are discovering is that there can be too much of a good thing,” said ASCC CEO Cindy Morrissey. “The market is now flooded with daily deals, with no one company’s e-mail campaigns standing out from another. Consumers are sick of this model, and we’re planning to replace it with a new one.”

A social networking innovation lies at the heart of the new revenue model that ASCC is exploring—one that the company believes could revolutionize the online social coupon industry.

TheFancy.com is a new social site similar to Pinterest that lets users flag up things they like online, like a photo blog for commercial products. The service also lets users purchase what they find online, delivering built-in support for e-commerce. TheFancy.com then collects 10 percent of each transaction’s value.

ASCC’s research indicates that women control a majority of household spending, and the company plans to tailor its social coupons to goods and services related to women’s health, parenting and even dating. ASCC plans to ensure that its coupon platform can be easily used with mobile devices such as the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad and iPhone.

“Women have always been the primary consumers of coupons,” Morrissey said. “Our new platform will make couponing easier and more fun for women than ever before, making all other couponing platforms obsolete.”
