Photographic Exhibition at Siam Society: In the Footsteps of the Lord Buddha

Bangkok – An exhibition of stunning photographs of the ten most important sites in the life of the Lord Buddha are on display at the Siam Society in Bangkok until 31 October. The photographs have been selected from a commemorative coffee table book published with funding support from the Oriental Cultural Heritage Sites Protection Alliance, based in Paris, and a number of other donors. I attended the opening ceremony on 21 October. Further details of the project, the launch event as well as my own photographs of the exhibits are below.

The launch event also featured an informative talk by Mr Gyanin Rai, Senior Director, Lumbini Development Trust, Nepal, on “Promotion, Conservation and Management of the Birthplace of Lord Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Greater Lumbini Area”. I will be reporting on this lecture in another dispatch.

I was the only travel industry journalist in Thailand to cover this event.
