MICE events in Bangkok to hit new benchmark with bike commute option for FOSSASIA Summit delegates

Bangkok, Thailand – In a pioneering move designed to promote sustainable urban mobility, leading technology conference FOSSASIA has partnered with Anywheel and the Bangkok Urban Cycling Alliance (BUCA) to launch a bike-sharing service during the FOSSASIA Summit 2025 at True Digital Park. Running from March 13 to 15, this innovative initiative is set to revolutionize how MICE delegates, tourists, tech enthusiasts, and local commuters navigate the city.

The new bike-sharing service bridges the gap between Punnawithi BTS Station and True Digital Park—a journey of only 500 meters—offering a swift, enjoyable, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional transport. Attendees can easily unlock an Anywheel bicycle with a simple scan of a QR code at a fractional cost of 10 baht for 30 minutes. They can cover the distance safely along the footpath and park the bicycle at a dedicated stand in front of True Digital Park.

The service will be launched on March 13, coinciding with the start of the FOSSASIA Summit 2025. It will be available between March 13-15. An intuitive mobile application will facilitate quick rentals and real-time availability updates. FOSSASIA delegates will also be able to use the service for longer commutes and adventurous exploration of other parts of Bangkok.

A Model for the Thailand MICE sector and Travel Industry

FOSSASIA delegates  promoting cycling, the initiative supports:

· Economic Benefits: Enhanced connectivity drives local business growth as delegates check out nearby cafes, shops, and attractions.

· Community Impact: A healthier, less congested city that fosters a better quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

· Future Mobility: True Digital Park positions itself as a leader in smart city innovations, demonstrating the transformative potential of sustainable travel solutions.

In another effort to grow the popularity of cycling amongst MICE delegates to Thailand, event organisers also included a pre-event bicycle tour through historic Bangkok, a leisurely ride through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks such as the Giant Swing, Democracy Monument, Khao San Road, Grand Palace, Klong Ong Ang, Sampheng and Chinatown. Eight FOSSASIA delegates signed up for this.
