Jewish fanatics intensify provocations in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque

JERUSALEM, September 27, 2018 (WAFA) – Jewish fanatics intensified on Thursday their provocations of Palestinians in the Old City of Jerusalem and Muslim worshippers inside the holy site, Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, according to witnesses.

They said Palestinian residents of the Old City confronted a group of Jewish extremists who attempted to hold prayers outside some of the gates leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque as hundreds others were admitted into the Muslim holy compound from Magharbeh Gate as part of the daily visitation of the site.

Witnesses said Israeli police, deployed in large numbers in the occupied city, tossed stun grenades at the Palestinians who stood up to the extremists outside the gates to the Mosque.

There were no reports of injuries or arrests.

Israeli fanatic organizations seeking to build a Jewish temple on the location of Al-Aqsa Mosque after destroying it, have called on their followers to intensify their presence in the Muslim holy compound during the current Jewish holidays, prompting Muslim officials to warn of outbreak of violence if Israel changes the status quo at the Mosque to satisfy the Jewish fanatics.

Fanatics are also planning to march on Thursday through the streets of occupied Jerusalem as part of the annual march of the Jewish Succot holiday.
