Career

1966-1968 Straits Times (now Singapore Press Holdings) as Management Trainee

1968-1970 Advertising Manager of Times Publishing (Sdn) Berhad.

1970- Joined Malaysia Singapore Airlines or MSA in the Marketing Division.

October 1972- Joined SIA after MSA was restructured into Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Malaysia Airlines System (MAS).

Spent 33 years with Singapore Airlines, working in various operations from Marketing to Cabin Crew, mostly in management positions. 15 years were spent managing Overseas Operations in Switzerland, Hong Kong, the USA, Southwest Pacific Region based in Sydney and West Asia & Africa Region covering the Indian Sub-Continent, Middle East and Africa.

1976-78 and again from 1985-89 Seconded by SIA to serve as Executive Director of Singapore Tourist Promotion Board (now Singapore Tourism Board).

2000-2004 Chief Executive of SATS (Singapore Airport Terminal Services) Catering, then a fully owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. SATS is the service provider for about 60-70% of the airlines that operate out of Singapore Changi Airport.

Retired from SIA in 2004.

2004-2006 Corporate Consultant with Temasek Holdings on their Transportation Desk. Temasek Holdings is the Singapore Government investment arm.

2004-2006 Corporate Advisor to Lufthansa Services Group or LSG-Sky Chefs, a fully owned subsidiary of Lufthansa.
