Career

After working as Deputy Director in International Trade Department, joined the then Tourist Burma in April, 1981. Tourist Burma was an enterprise under the Hotels & Tourist Corporation under the Ministry of Trade. Under the centrally-planned economy, Tourist Burma was then the only Tour Operator and Travel agent in the country.

Although the tourist arrivals were few (45,000), Tourist Burma had to handle all the tourists, both FITS and Package tours. As General Manager, was responsible for managing Tourist Burma and its Branch Offices in Bagan, Mandalay and Taunggyi, Inlay. Followed in the footsteps of former Tourist Burma General Manager U Maung Maung.

Named Deputy Director General of Directorate of Hotels & Tourism in 1992.

Retired from service in 2004.

Presently: Program Director, Ratana Metta Organization.
