JobStreet.com unveils “Company Reviews”, allowing employees to comment on their workplace

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 (Bernama) — JobStreet.com, one of Asia’s leading online employment marketplaces launched its newest product, ‘Company Reviews’, at the 18th JobStreet.com Malaysia Career and Training Fair 2016 (MCTF’16). The renowned career fair is jointly organized with long-standing partner, AIC Exhibitions Sdn Bhd and includes over 120 of Malaysia’s top employers.

Company Reviews is a new and easy-to-use feature for employees to comment on their workplace. This gives a view inside a company, helping candidates get real insights into the workplace reality of companies in Malaysia and make informed career choices.

Jake Andrew, Chief Product Officer of SEEK Asia said, “Consumers increasingly want to know what other consumers think before making key decisions. In our industry, this means candidates want to know what current and former employees of a company really think about their workplace. This insight helps them make better-informed decisions.”

“This was one of the main motivations in developing this feature. Conversations about workplace are already happening in private and fragmented communities. Company Reviews adds structure and provides a single place where all these conversations occur in a transparent manner. Reviews are monitored to meet our community guidelines. These ensure they are more helpful to others searching for the best workplace in Malaysia, and prevent spam and abuse,” he added.

Candidates receive valuable workplace insights from reviews of current and former employees. This helps them make better choice in selecting a workplace that is a good fit for them.

Hirers receive applications from more engaged candidates, and focus interviews on employees who are a better cultural fit. They can also respond to candidates’ reviews, communicate their employer value proposition (EVP) and provide an updated view of their workplace.

In Malaysia, Jobstreet.com has already received over 50,000 company ratings and reviews, covering over 8,000 workplaces. These include employers like Volkswagen Group, Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company and Intel. The number continues to grow as more and more reviews are submitted, moderated and processed for public view.

“Our Company Review community strives to be transparent, open, fair and help candidates research and select workplaces that will be a good fit for them. Given our large candidate audience and clear market leading position, we are confident of this feature’s positive impact on both candidates and hirers,” said Mr Andrew.

JobStreet.com’s Company Reviews will continue to see innovation and development. Jobstreet.com plans to roll out the feature across Southeast Asia in coming months.
