Tehran, Nov 10, IRNA – Deputy minister of science, research and technology Hossein Salar-Amoli said on Tuesday that eight Iranian universities are among top 800 universities, as Iran advanced from 16th to 15th position on the survey conducted by the Information Science Institute

Universities of Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Sharif, Allameh Tabatabaei, Khajeh-Nasir, Elm-o San’at, Fredosi (Mashad) and Shiraz have been ranked among the best universities across the world, Hossein Salar-Amoli said.

He told a press conference that talks held between chancellors of ten Iranian universities and their counterparts in Moscow of 12 Russian best universities last week were a great achievement.

Chancellor of Tehran University Mahmoud Nili-Ahmadabadi who attended the meeting as the representative of Iran top universities said that development of the universities’ scientific relations is on agenda of the science ministry.

Given Iran’s specific scientific position, most of the world’s reputable centers are keen on ties with its universities, he said.
