Jewish Fanatic Settlers’ Violence Intensifies across West Bank

WEST BANK, October 5, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli Jewish settlers last night and on Monday morning intensified attacks against Palestinians across the West Bank, according to local and media sources.

These violent attacks continue for the third day of an unabated aggression against vulnerable Palestinian communities, especially villages that are adjacent to illegal settlements.

In Jenin district, dozens of settlers gathered at the evacuated settlement of Homesh at Nablus-Jenin road and verbally assaulted Palestinians passers-by.

Settlers also gathered at the entrance of Mevo-Dotan settlement, to the southwest of Jenin, waved Israeli flags and chanted anti-Arab slogans.

In Nablus, settlers attacked with stones Palestinians vehicles while trying to pass the Israeli Huwwara checkpoint, south of the city, causing material damage to vehicles.

Meanwhile in Hebron, settlers provocatively rallied in the Old City neighborhood, during which they shouted racist slogans against Arabs while waving Israel’s flags.

Also in Hebron, settlers physically assaulted a Palestinian minor, 13-year-old Adham Msallam, causing him bruises throughout his body.

Settlers further assaulted a Palestinian youth in the nearby town of Bani Na’im. The youth, Mohammad Tarayreh, 24, also sustained bruises.

The latest escalation in violence by settlers came in the aftermath of the Israeli attempts to divide al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest place, between Muslims and Jews and the recent heinous murder of Dawabsheh family in Duma, during which four-year-old Ahmad lost his mother, father and 18-month-old brother Ali in a deliberate arson attack.

Palestinian officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas, have repeatedly warned that such a move will have dire consequences on the overall political atmosphere in the region.
