Iran ready to reciprocally waive visa requirements

Isfahan, Aug 28, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said foreign nationals whose respective countries facilitate Iranians’ entry to their land without visas do not require visas to visit Iran.

‘To promote relations, we are ready to reciprocate the countries’ plans to allow Iranians visit their lands without obtaining visas,’ he told reporters on Friday.

As to attracting foreign tourists, he said Foreign Ministry is duty-bound to facilitate arrival of investors and tourists.

All provinces and cities in Iran boast of industrial, cultural and social attractions, Zarif added, Iran’s diplomatic apparatus is facilitator of the enthusiasts’ entry to Iranian sites in various points.

Zarif arrived in Isfahan late Wednesday on behalf of President Hassan Rouhani and the cabinet to inaugurate a number of development projects in Isfahan province.

In another development, Austrian President Heinz Fischer is to pay an official visit to Iran on September 7 at the head of an high ranking economic delegation, Austrian media announced on Thursday.

The Austrian daily Der Standard said that a number of Austrian businessmen and trade companies are willing to set up offices or agencies in Iran to conduct business with Iranian partners.

The Austrian economic delegation will explore the grounds for trade and business ties and carry feasibility studies to determine operation in Iranian market, said an Austrian daily.
