Israeli spies learn Quran, Islamic teachings

Tehran, April 11, IRNA – Israeli security forces have disclosed the regime’s spies are taught the Quran and Islamic ideology, among other things, to help them infiltrate Arab and Muslim communities more easily.

Jacob Bieri, a former official with the Israeli spy agency Shin Bet (or Shabak), says the agency’s recruits go through special and intensive training programs that include courses on Arabic language, the Quran and Islamic teachings.

He said they learn about Islam and the Quran and even memorize verses of the Quran and names of God so that they can easily pose as Muslims in their espionage missions, Palestine Al Yawm news network reported.

Shin Bet is a mainstay of Israel’s intelligence apparatus alongside the spy agency of Mossad and the military intelligence.

The agency is engaged in espionage through local operatives and extraction of information from Palestinian prisoners under torture. It is also tasked with carrying out targeted killings of Palestinian leaders.

The agency has been reported to direct an Israeli espionage network throughout occupied Palestine.
