Chinese doctors list the top 10 professions with worst sleep quality

Beijing, 2014-03-21 (chinadaily.com.cn) –  Everyone wants good quality sleep. However, some find it difficult to give their body clock a proper rest due to the nature of their occupation. Chinese Medical Doctor Association, which launched the 2014 China Sleep Quality Index research report on March 16, shows that, in general, the sleep quality of Chinese residents is good and is getting better, although 30 percent of residents’ sleep quality still falls short of the ideal benchmark.

The association studied the sleep quality of people from all walks of life and revealed that media workers top the list of 10 employees who find it most difficult to get good quality sleep.

Here’s a look at 10 professions where workers find it most difficult to get proper sleep, according to 2014 China Sleep Quality Index.

No. 1 Media people receive 56.5 points, the lowest among all professions when it comes to sleep quality.

No. 2 Advertisement/public relations workers rank second with 58.4 points.

No. 3  Small business owners rank third with 59.5 points.

No. 4 Health care Medical workers rank fourth with 60.8 points.

No. 5 Information technology workers rank fifth with 61.4 points.

No. 6 Ordinary white-collar workers rank sixth with 61.6 points.

No. 7 Blue-collar workers rank seventh with 61.9 points.

No. 8  Corporate executives and professional managers rank eighth with 62.1 points.

No. 9  Workers in financial industry rank ninth with 62.2 points.

No. 10  Salesmen rank 10th with 62.3 points on the list of professions with the worst sleep quality.
