Australians are hiding $11 billion in spending from their loved ones – Finder

What do we have to hide? It’s often the case in a relationship that an innocently placed white lie can be a wise move in terms of keeping the ship sailing smoothly. Whether you accidentally killed the family goldfish and managed to swap it out before anyone noticed, or just didn’t want your other half to catch a whiff of that surprise getaway you’ve been planning – there’s some pretty valid reasons for not spilling the beans at every occasion.

On a national level, however, we’re keeping an average of $2,713 each – or $11.3 billion collectively – from our other half, which is alarming to say the least. Unsurprisingly, it’s also not just a lot of dead goldfish. What purchases are we keeping secret?
