Israeli Troops Kills 2 Palestinians near Jerusalem, Death Toll Hits 124

JERUSALEM, December 16, 2015 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians Wednesday were fatally shot and four others injured by Israeli troops during a predawn military raid on Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, according to medical sources.

Local sources said hundreds of Israeli troops and undercover forces broke into the camp at about 1:00 am, provoking clashes with local youths. Soldiers used live ammunition towards youths, killing two locals identified as Ahmad Jahajha, 21, and Hekmat Hamdan, 29.

An Israeli police spokeswoman claimed that Jahajha ran over Israeli soldiers during their offensive on the camp, before they shot him from a three-meter distance. He was left to bleed to death.

At least four others were shot and injured, including one seriously.

The bodies of both Jahajha and Hamdan were taken by the Israeli troops to an unknown destination.

During the incursion, the Israeli military also detained a local Palestinian, identified as Mahmoud Abu-Latifa, 26, after reportedly assaulting him and beating him up.

Troops further stormed the homes of three Palestinians who were killed during previous Israeli raids on the camp. The army also raided and wreaked havoc into a number of commercial stores and a medical laboratory in the camp.

Today’s killings bring up the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire since the beginning of unrest in early October 2015 to 124. Over 13,000 Palestinians have also been injured.
