New Book “Cyber Fraud: The Web of Lies” Exposes Threat to Small Businesses

Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) July 13, 2015 — In February 2014, Former U.S. Marine, cyber security expert and ethical hacker Bryan Seely used a loophole in Google Maps to record telephone calls made to the FBI and Secret Service. He did it to highlight the ways that criminals use these loopholes to defraud individual consumers, unfairly compete against legitimate businesses, and deprive the government of billions annually in tax revenue. In his book, “Cyber Fraud: The Web of Lies,” Seely provides a step-by-step account of his loophole discovery, just how serious and pervasive this problem is, and why everyone should be paying more attention to the daily threats of cyber fraud.

“Every American has heard of ‘cyber fraud’ on some level,” explains Seely. “Cyber fraud is much, much more prevalent than most people realize. Every day falsified results are costing Americans money, with small business owners at particular risk.”

According to the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA), there are more than 28 million small business owners in America, and most of them don’t regular double check their online listings, which leaves them wide open to predatory hackers. “The loopholes used by these hackers are the same ones that just last month allowed the White House to come up in searches for ‘N***** House’ and Howard University to come up in searches for ‘N***** University’,” continues an impassioned Seely. “These types of search results can have devastating effects on business and organizations of all sizes.”

Seely’s book details how serious this problem is, as well as how it can be solved. It empowers consumers to take a stand against fake Internet business listings, and explains exactly why the major search engines aren’t cleaning up their business listings (in fact, they’re making money off it, too).

Seely is a strategic business leader with more than 15 years’ experience in cybersecurity, leadership, risk management, privacy, and regulatory compliance. He is an independent security researcher committed to discovering leaks within trusted private networks on the Internet. He has gained notoriety in recent years for hacking Google Maps, wiretapping the Secret Service, and exposing major data leaks for bond insurer MBIA and LinkedIn. Hacking the federal government could have sent him to prison. Instead, the agent he wiretapped called him a “hero.” It was through their encouragement that “Cyber Fraud: The Web of Lies” was born. Bryan Seely was even praised by Shark Tank star Mark Cuban in an interview with Brian Krebs.

Help Bryan expose how Google and others are reaping untold profits off of lies. This billion-dollar problem can be solved; all it takes is for everyday people to know that it even exists.

“Cyber Fraud: The Web of Lies” is available on Amazon.com for Pre-order and will be officially released in paperback on July 15th, Amazon Prime Day. E-books will be available on Kindle and iTunes, and an audiobook will be released by the beginning of August. Visit http://www.cyberfraudtheweboflies.com for more information.
