Pakistan preparing to take up US drone attacks at UN

ISLAMABAD, Sept 12 (NNN-APP) — Pakistan on Thursday said preparations are underway to raise the issue of drone attacks at the United Nations in accordance with the recommendation of the resolution adopted in the All Pakistan Conference hosted by the government.

Foreign Office Spokesman Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry at the weekly briefing Thursday said necessary directives have been issued to Pakistani missions in New York and Geneva in this regard. The spokesman rejected having signed any agreement with the United States on drone attacks.

He said Pakistan has a clear policy on drone attacks that these are violation of its territorial sovereignty and integrity. He said drone attacks are counter productive.

The spokesman said the drone attacks are violation of international laws and Pakistan has been raising its concerns with United States at all levels in this regard. He said the international community has also supported Pakistan’s stance on drone attacks.
