China, Venezuela sign 38 new agreements

CARACAS, July 22 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Venezuela and China signed 38 new cooperation agreements for the development which open the doors to a new historical stage of exchanges, Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro said.

Maduro announced the construction and assembly of a third Venezuelan satellite with Chinese help and advice.

Different joint funds between the two nations already total US$56 billion and several billions have been invested in the construction of decent houses for Venezuelans, said Maduro.

Meanwhile, the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, called to mantain former president late Hugo Chávez’ enterprising spirit, in order to consolidate relations of a fair and equitable order.

Venezuela is one of China’s largest investment commitments, Xi said and only in 2013, the amount invested in commerce is of US$19 billion.

The agreements signed are the result of the work of the XIII Joint High Level Commission between Venezuela and China, which concluded here Tuesday.
